I have to tell you something. Growing up, I wasn't a fan of books.  I always thought that it was such a boring hobby. 'What am I going to do with a bunch of pages of papers filled with words and no pictures?', 'How much time will it take me to read that whole book? Probably never' were the ideas I had in mind whenever I saw books. With big-eyed dolls with pouty lips in my hands, I would spend my days probably playing with my toys, watching cartoons and filling up the spaces in my coloring book (hello, fellow 90's kids!). But, the summer after high school changed this point of view of mine. I grabbed a book, sat down with a cup of tea beside me and well, I guess I found my new passion. They say that one of the signs of growing up is when you like the things that you didn't like before. Now, I'm a bookworm and I can't tolerate idle time; I always have a book with me to fill those quiet times with voices, places, faces and experiences. Read more on the books that changed my life. It can change yours too!

The books below are my personal list of the 6 books that changed my outlook in life for the better
There is no sponsorship or whatsoever in this post. I just want to share these books because I think that everyone should read them to help you grow spiritually and emotionally. They are not arranged in a certain way, 1 is not the best and 6 is not the worst. They are mostly inspirational books; books that'll teach you lessons in life. You should try reading these books :)

1- The Happiness Code by Dominique Bertolcci
Happiness is a difficult term to define. Different people have different interpretations of it. Different things make different people happy. In this book, it introduces ten simple keys that will surely make you happier than you already are...whichever state you are in, in your life right now. Yes, we can easily admit that we're in a happy disposition but sometimes, it's better when we're reminded of important lessons like: Happiness is a choice that we have to choose everyday, focusing on being the best you can be, that everyone deserves to be happy and so much more.

2- How to Find Your Soulmate: Without Losing Your Soul by Jason & Crystalina Evert
If you're a close friend of mine, you've probably heard me rant about how amazing this book is. It's truly my favorite. I've mentioned it to all my teenage friends because I believe that this what every girl of every size, nationality, and age should read in her lifetime. I got this after listening to the chastity speakers Jason & Crsytalina Evert a few months ago and this really turned my life around. In this book, it teaches you the real meaning of a 'soulmate', about the importance of dating, the 10 types of guys you should be aware of and to 'not-date', how to be independent in life, how to love your true self and many more. It makes you understand many aspects of love and life. It points out that single girls should love their selves first, learn to be independent in life, to do what they love and really get to know God because through these things, you'll attract the guy that will love you for who you are & he will come in the right time. You just have to be patient. Make sure that you and him will be worth the wait.
Find your soulmate. Read this book. It's worth every second, trust me.

3- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Paulo Coelho is my one of favourite authors. In this book, he tells us about a parable; a journey of a boy. The story is a page-turner since you'll get involved in his life and his trials along the way. While reading, you'll find yourself encountering sentences that you'll want to treasure forever. With this book, I couldn't help but underline and highlight the statements that really inspired me to follow my dreams in life not tomorrow, but today. This is a definitely a classic and there's a reason why it is such. Know why & grab a copy to see for yourself!

4- The Purpose Driven Life- Rick Warren
This book was my mother's copy. I found it around the house and told myself, 'hey, this book seems interesting, why not read it' and so I did. If you're at a time now in your life when you just have questions in your mind about life, your existence and about God, then this book is perfect for you. This will tell you and explain to you what your purpose is here on earth. It will make you understand the value of your life and what God wants for you to accomplish in this world. Think of it this way, we have a mission to finish, our earthly lives is just a journey. Our real destination is what comes after it.

5- Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
Another great inspirational writer is Mitch Albom. Tuesdays with Morrie is a great book that has a very moving story. It covers lots of great lessons about love, regrets, death, family, emotions, fear of aging, money, marriage and more because it comes from a very wise man with lots of experience in this thing called 'life' that we all have. Its written in a manner that makes it seem like we're listening to that old  man in a room, and being privileged to hear his 'words of wisdom' that he has been acquired throughout all the years of his existence. A great read indeed.

6- The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin
When you open this book, it's filled with 3 things, a date, a quote about happiness at the top most part, and lastly, empty lines. 'Empty' because it's up to you to fill these blank spaces with words. It's actually not a book, but a journal. Every day, for 5 years, you write something that made you smile, or happy for that day. This book allows you to rewind the whole day in your head and makes you grateful for all your blessings that you have received or encountered. After a few months, if you try to go back to the pages, it's amazing how some words bring you back to that exact day a few months or years ago. (that was practically a blur in your memory already) The moment just goes back like it just happened yesterday and truly, it makes you happy instantly.
This book makes you appreciate the little things in life :)

These books are, at the end of the day, just words printed in pilled up papers.
It's really up to YOU to take action and to put these words into action to be able to truly change your life. I hope that you guys try to read these books and get inspired to have a positive, happy, balanced, and God- centred life all the time. I would love to hear your feedback on these books!
Happy reading, friends! :)
