Indeed, time flies fast and I, too, can't believe that it's already 2015! Together with the new year, it's been a tradition for so long to have brand new versions of ourselves as well. But, what do we really mean when we want a 'Me 2.0'? Here are some things that we should do (actually do, and not just start planning and then forget about it towards the middle or end of the year) this 2015!

 Travel the world more
Many people say stop buying things, and start doing things. 'Doing' here can mean lots of things but I think that the best way to make use of your money is to travel and to go on more adventures. It's different when you get to experience a place for what it is and not just how it seems to be. Travelling makes everything real. When you go to another, unfamiliar place, you get to see their traditions, the beautiful sceneries that the magic of nature brings, taste their authentic meals, meet different people, get lost and just find your way back....or even find yourself. It can work both ways.

Find a passion that you truly love
It's finally time to go out of your comfort zone and try something that you've never tried before may it be skydiving, painting, cooking...whatever it is that you're drawn to. This was what I did in the last month of 2014. I started painting. I took up a private painting class and it's been amazing! (will post about this next) I realised that when you do something that you love, you'll never notice time passing by. You'll get a sense of fulfilment and inner happiness. The feeling is really priceless.

Eat Cleaner and treat your body better
Health is wealth. We are the only ones responsible for our own health since we only have one body. This year, take care of yourself more by eating healthier. Choose your meals carefully. Do it for yourself and not for anyone. Its great to look and feel good about yourself since it helps boost your confidence. Don't start tomorrow, start today. Stick to your diet and exercise. That's the perfect combination.

Read different books
When I was younger, I didn't like books. I honestly did not understand them. For me, they were boring.  But one day, I gave them a chance and after reading a really good book... I got hooked. I love reading books because in the comfort of our own homes, we get to have different lives. Through it, we get the chance to go inside the heads of different characters, witness historical events, and learn so much. Never stop learning. Try it out. Have a book list.

 'Do' rather than 'Say'
This year, don't just map out your life by using a pen and paper. Go out to the real world and actually accomplish what you've written in your new planner's 'goals for this year' section. There's a big difference between saying that you'll do something and actually putting in the effort to finish it. When you get things done, you'll see that all the hard work will be worth it in the end.

 Love your family
No one can forget this line from Lilo & Stitch about family mainly because it just so true. Its funny how when you're younger, you don't see the value of family because you're too focused on your friends. But as you grow older, you realize that the only people that will love you no matter what is your family.  It's the best too when you develop a friendship with the members of your own family. Love them and cherish them always.

 Love yourself
Before you can give love away, its best to love yourself first. Be your own source of happiness and choose to be happy everyday. After doing this, its now good to share that love to other people. You have to know yourself well, accept the things that you're good at and improve on your weaknesses. Just like the legendary Audrey Hepburn's quote above, at the end of the day, you're the only one you can depend on in life.

Don't seek praise seek criticism
It's easy to seek praise but it takes effort to give a criticism. It's good to know that you're doing well in the eyes of other people but its better to ask how you can do better next time. We should constantly strive to improve ourselves because no one is perfect. Don't take negative comments seriously but rather, take them constructively.

Have a closer relationship with God
Make it a point to pray often. When you wake up pray to God. When you notice that there's no traffic in the road, pray to God. When you ace your test, pray to God. When you get a low grade, pray to God. When you have problem, pray to God. Before you go to sleep, you guessed it, pray to God. Develop a certain friendship with Him and talk to him constantly. You'll notice a great difference in your life, you'll feel that you are always guided, you'll be happier and more positive. Do your best and you'll reach your goals. Remember, with Him, truly nothing is impossible.

Another year is another opportunity to start a clean slate.
Let go of the past and be your best self this year!
I wish you all a brand new 2015 filled with blessings, love and success :)
